GerhanaSAT Challenge 2022

ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The GerhanaSAT Challenge 2022 is designed to provide an immersive experience in satellite design, build, test, and operate at an affordable cost. The competition requires a thorough thought process which includes a mission proposal, preliminary design review, critical design review, and final demonstration all of which undergoes technical design, documentation, and project management skills besides showcasing leadership and great sportsmanship.

The most important aspect of this competition is that each participant will learn many essential skills that could be applied throughout their professional career through the process of developing this project, learning what works and what does not, and learning to work together as a team.

CHALLENGES

1) TELEMETRY AND TELECOMMAND CHALLENGE*
Each team has to develop the prototype using the STM32 Blue Pill as the main processor capable of sending telemetry data of onboard sensors to the ground station at 1-second intervals for 2 minutes at a distance of 2km. The ground station should also be able to send telecommand to the Prototype to raise a Jalur Gemilang flag.
2) ROVER DOCKING CHALLENGE*
Each team has to develop the prototype that can successfully maneuver through some obstacles to get to the docking station and push the tactile switch on the docking station that will be provided by the organizers.
3) INNOVATION CHALLENGE*
Each team has to develop the prototype with an innovation feature that solves real problems.

REGISTRATION

There is no registration fee. Registration will be open until July 17, 2022.

COST

All teams are responsible for their accommodation, travel expenses, and their prototype/product development costs.
